Human or Dog Quiz: Do You Know Who These Fitness Products Are For?

"Properly trained, a man can be dog's best friend." - Corey Ford, American humorist

Last year, my brother Josh's family got a dog, named Rico, much to the delight of my niece and nephew. I've had the pleasure of playing with Rico and enjoying his canine company. He has boundless energy and livens up the house -- often at odd hours of the night.

I recently met some great folks who own Sit Means Sit dog training franchises.

Much to my surprise, one of the company’s ambassadors impressed me greatly with his abilities on the Core Flyte. It got me thinking about the rigors of training dogs... and inevitability, similarities between humans’ fitness and dogs’ fitness. It turns out that it’s hard to tell if many of the latest fitness crazes are meant for humans or dogs!

So, let's play a game. See if you can guess which of the health programs and products described below are for humans and which are for dogs.

Who are these products for? Human or Dog?

[To read the answers, scroll below the five descriptions]

1. Bubble Soccer: Human.

A new version of a Gold’s Gym franchise, called the Elite Training Center, opened in Woodbridge, Virginia, just weeks ago. One of the ways this gym is differentiating itself is through unique and social fitness activities, including Bubble Soccer.

2. Gorilla Max Protein Powder: Dog.

Well, it's not for gorillas. This canine protein muscle supplement is made by the Bully Max company for Rottweilers, pit-bulls, bulldogs, and other dogs to help them bulk up.

3. Weight Vest: Human and Dog.

Yup. There's a version of this weight vest for people as well as dogs. For dogs, the vests are used to train in weight-pulling sports and to tire out aggressive dogs. Humans use these vests to put more emphasis on the upper body and core while training, to accelerate muscle development, and to improve endurance.

4. Beast Re-Animate Supplement: Human.

Beast Sports is a sports nutrition brand that encourages people to unleash their inner beast. Beast offers a range of workout supplements including Re-Animate, which is focused on maximizing muscle recovery after working out. Another product it sells is Beast Creature, a creatine-based supplement.

5. Rehab and Exercise Ball: Dog.

The FitPAWS® Donut is specially-designed for small dogs and is constructed with heavy-duty materials to resist tearing caused by dog nails.
